YOGA DHANUSH @ GOVT. BLIND SCHOOL, TILAK NAGAR, MYSORE ( 10/06/2025 TO 17/06/2025)

 From 10/06/2025 to 17/06/2025, the Department of Swasthavritta and Yoga, Government Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Mysuru, organized daily yoga training sessions under the Yoga Dhanush initiative as part of the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations. 

These sessions were conducted for specially-abled children at the Government Blind School, Tilak Nagar, Mysuru, every morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. 

The training included yogasanas and pranayama practices from the Common Yoga Protocol, taught in a manner that was simple and accessible to the students.

The trainers for the sessions were Dr. Janani D, Dr. Lakshmipriya, Dr. Pankaja, Dr. Vandana, and Dr. Shilpa. 

The students participated enthusiastically throughout the program. Alongside the practical training, the importance and benefits of yoga were also explained to them. On the final day, some students shared their experiences and expressed their commitment to continue practicing yoga regularly. Around 50 students took part in the training program.



Yoga Competition:

  • As part of the 11th International Yoga Day celebration, a yoga competition was organized at the Government Blind School, Tilak Nagar, Mysuru.
  • The judges for the event were Dr. Praveen Kumar D.C. and Dr. Ganapathi.
  • Around 34 students participated in the competition and gave an excellent display of yoga.The physical coordination and disciplined performance of the visually challenged students received appreciation from all.
  • Prize Winners: First Prize: Prithviraj and Arasu Nayak; Second Prize: Yuvaraj, Appu, and Poorvith Kumar; Third Prize: Nandan Kumar, Nithin Kumar, and Shankar
  • For the 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes - school bag, water bottle, pouch was given.
  • These prizes were distributed during the valedictory program by Mr. Satish, and Dr. Sudheendra Navale, Professor, Department of Swasthavritta, Government Ayurveda Medical College, Mysuru.
