Training of Trainers for yoga instructors (Yoga Hub)

As part of the Training of Trainers (ToT) programme conducted under the Yoga Hub Project, a scientific awareness session on "Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and the Importance of Yoga in Preventing NCDs" was organized at Nanjangud, Mysuru, on 24-07-2026. The session was delivered by Dr. Pavana Bhat K. and Dr. Vandana B. Patil, P.G  Scholars, Department of PG and Ph.D. Studies in Swasthavritta, Government Ayurveda Medical College, Mysuru, under the guidance of the faculty members of the department. The resource persons highlighted the increasing global burden of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. They emphasized the role of unhealthy lifestyle practices as major risk factors and discussed evidence-based preventive strategies focusing on healthy diet, regular physical activity, stress management, and behavioural modifications.

Date : 15/06/2026 Venue: AIISH park, bhogadi, Mysore Coordinators :  Dr Pankaja, Dr Sushmitha M, Dr Spoorthi, Dr Anagha As part of the 12th International Day of Yoga celebrations, the Department of PG & Ph.D studies in Swasthavritta & yoga, Government Ayurveda Medical College, Mysuru. organized a yoga session at AIISH Park, Bhogadi, for elderly women focusing on menopause-related health issues. The programme aimed to create awareness about the benefits of yoga in managing physical, psychological, and emotional challenges of menopause and ageing. The session included gentle exercises, yogasanas, pranayama, relaxation, and meditation. Participants were educated on healthy lifestyle practices and Ayurvedic principles. The interactive programme was well received, encouraging women to adopt yoga for improved health, well-being, and quality of life.  

E -YOGA AWARENESS

Date : 16/06/2026  On the occasion of the 12th International Day of Yoga, the Department of PG & Ph.D Studies in Swasthavritta & Yoga, Government Ayurveda Medical College, Mysuru, organised the release of E-Yoga Awareness QR Codes that provide access to educational videos and information leaflets on commonly occurring geriatric health problems. The QR codes were formally released by the Principal and the Head of the Department of Swasthavritta in the presence of faculty members and postgraduate scholars. The educational resources were developed to create awareness about common health issues in old age and to promote preventive and promotive healthcare through Yoga, Ayurveda, and healthy lifestyle practices. Release of QR code,Poster 2026- Yoga for Healthy aging

Date - 16/6/2026  As part of the celebrations of the 12th International Day of Yoga, posters highlighting the various programmes to be organized were officially released by the Department of PG & Ph.D Studies in Swasthavritta & Yoga, Government Ayurveda Medical College, Mysuru. The posters were unveiled by the Principal and the Head of the Department in the presence of faculty members and postgraduate scholars. The planned activities include yoga demonstrations, awareness programmes, health talks, and community outreach initiatives aimed at promoting yoga for health, wellness, and disease prevention. The programmes are designed to encourage participation from students, healthcare professionals, and the general public, fostering awareness about the scientific and therapeutic benefits of yoga in day-to-day life. Health camp- 8/3/2025

 A Health camp was conducted on 8th March 2026at Bedaguli to provide medical consultation and basic health services to the local community A total of 60 patients attended the camp and received health checkups, medical advice and counselling on preventive healthcare Patients requiring further evaluation were adviced to seek appropriate follow-up care  Dr Shilpa and Dr Anagha were present during the health camp and participated in patient examination and health education activities
